Last updated: 27 July 2026

This policy explains how newgrads.co.uk ("we", "us" or "our") handles personal information when you visit newgrads.co.uk, create an account or use our graduate job and internship discovery services (the "Service").

1. Information we collect

  • Account details: your name, email address, authentication details and communication preferences.
  • Career preferences: career fields, locations, job types, saved opportunities and alert settings you choose.
  • Subscription information: your plan, billing status and transaction references. Payment providers process card details on our behalf; we do not need to store complete card numbers.
  • Service activity: searches, viewed opportunities, device and browser information, IP address, approximate location derived from IP and security logs.
  • Communications: messages and feedback you send to us.

2. How we use information

  • Provide accounts, searches, saved roles and opportunity alerts.
  • Personalise results using preferences you provide.
  • Manage free-plan limits, paid subscriptions and customer support.
  • Protect the Service, prevent misuse and diagnose technical problems.
  • Understand and improve how the Service is used.
  • Send service messages and, where you have chosen them, marketing communications.

3. Our legal bases

Under UK data protection law, we process information where it is necessary to perform our contract with you, to pursue legitimate interests such as operating and securing the Service, to meet legal obligations, or where you have given consent. You may withdraw consent at any time.

4. Sharing information

We may share only the information needed with hosting, authentication, analytics, email, customer-support and payment providers that help operate the Service. We may also disclose information if legally required, to protect users or the Service, or as part of a business sale or reorganisation. We do not sell personal information.

When you follow a link to apply for an opportunity, the employer or job platform you visit processes information under its own privacy policy. We do not send an application to an employer unless the Service clearly tells you that it will do so.

5. Retention and international transfers

We keep information only for as long as needed for the purposes above, including legal, accounting, security and dispute requirements. Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where required, we use approved contractual safeguards or another lawful transfer mechanism.

6. Cookies

We may use essential cookies for sign-in, preferences and security. Any non-essential analytics or advertising cookies will be controlled through the choices presented on the Service where consent is required.

7. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or an objection to processing. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

8. Young users

The Service is not intended for children under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate.

9. Contact and changes

We may update this policy as the Service develops. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate. For privacy questions or requests, contact [email protected].
